Axis

Axis:

The axis is an imaginary line drawn from the north pole to the south pole that passes through the centre of the Earth. It has a tilt of 23.5°. The Earth spins around an imaginary line called the axis. The two end points of the axis are the North Pole and the South Pole. The axis of the Earth is tilted at an angle of 231/2 degree (231/2^0) to the vertical. The South Pole and the North Pole act as reference points to locate places on the globe. In the figure below the various points of reference are marked on the globe.
